Story
The Amy Gillett Foundation is a charity with one purpose – reducing the incidence of death and injury of bike riders.
The Foundation was born out of tragedy, the death of Amy Gillett, who was hit by an out of control motorist whilst cycling with her National Team mates in Germany. Since our inception we have been a catalyst for change, focussed on what should be, rather than what is. That’s why we have set ambitious aims and outcomes.
Our Mission is for: Safe cycling in Australia

Amy's Gran Fondo is an event myself and mates I ride with during the year participate in. What better way to take in the beauty of Victoria's Great Ocean Road, whilst competing with your mates in a Team's event and supporting this wonderful Charity.

Amy Gillett Foundation
The Amy Gillett Foundation (AGF) began its work in 2006 in the name of Amy Gillett, who was tragically killed as a result of being hit by a motorist whilst cycling with the Australian Women’s Road cycling team in Germany in 2005.
The Amy Gillett Foundation's vision is for safe bicycling throughout Australia in order to achieve the ultimate target of zero bicycling fatalities.
The Foundation promotes a safe and harmonious relationship of shared respect between bicyclists and motorists – to highlight the importance of being responsible every time we head out on the road whether we're on two wheels or on four. Why? Because everyone deserves to arrive at their destination safely irrespective of their chosen mode of transport.
